You really got me

My blogging skills are still a tad rusty, and I am currently working on ironing out some posting kinks. But rest assured, when I do, you will be treated to one heck of an amateur photo essay of my trip to New York, entitled "Big Apple, Bigger Bagel."

In the meantime, though, I thought I would share my views on Mahmoud Ahmadinejad--the happy-go-lucky leader of Iran.

Quite simply, I'm a big, big fan. How can you not like this guy? Just look at him. He's good people.

Sure, he may or may not be planning the demise of Western civilization. But he seems pretty damn likeable, always smiling and what not. And he looks a little like an Iranian version of the 40-year-old virgin (though he's got to be swimming in weapons-grade Iranian tail). And he tells it like he sees it. You've got to respect that.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong on this one. For now, though, Ahmadinejad is a friend of Mabel.

He has a Yakov Smirnov like air to him. On a related note, Yakov is celebrating his 20th year a US citizen, so feel free to send him a porcelain platter.

Upon reading your post, good friend, the following question popped immediately into my mind: if Ahmadinejad were a Sesame Street character, which would he be?

If you were going on a strictly ethnic basis, I'd say you'd have to go with Bert - the unibrow says "Persian Madman" to me...

Any thoughts?

I think if you're going for Persian Madman, Oscar is your guy. But Mahmoud is far too jovial to be considered a grouch. Maybe Elmo. I think a Tickle-Me Ahmadinejad could be a uniting force in the world.

Cobber,

Careful, you might be getting a little closer to the truth than you realize:
